About
Hi! I'm Isabel, a May 2025 graduate from the University of Connecticut majoring in Multidisciplinary Engineering with a specialization in Industrial Design.

After graduation, I am headed to the University of Kentucky for a M.A. in Interiors. I'm looking forward to scaling up all the engineering and industrial design skills I’ve learned from undergrad and applying that to large-scale immersive experiences.

I love to explore and travel for all the opportunities to experience new things and connect with different types of people to deepen my understanding of the world around me.
My favorite thing about design is the opportunity to cross reference cultures and livelihoods to inspire unlikely solutions to unconventional challenges.
Exploration is key to innovative design, and I pride myself in my open-mindedness and eagerness for creative solutions.

What is
Multidisciplinary Engineering?
This interdisciplinary program is giving me a strong foundation in a variety of engineering principles as I gain experience in the complementary practice of industrial design. My industrial design courses have equipped me with experience in rapid ideation and prototyping, material sensitivity and selection, and human-centered design practices. I’ve gotten the chance to perform extensive market research and then jump into shop work with cardboard, metalwork, blacksmithing, wood, foam, and clay sculpting. My engineering coursework has provided a background in engineering physics and chemistry, material science, electrical circuits, and even mechanics of materials and fluids. This has given me the ability to approach projects both technically and artistically, allowing me to work and have conversations with many different types of people and professions while pursuing a career in industrial design.
